News this week...

The school values characterise all that happens in school, both seen and unseen; they are courage, integrity, resilience and compassion, and as children grow and mature during their school career, our children become increasingly able to speak about them with confidence and to recognise them in themselves and others.

Yesterday was a day of celebration, when our Governors joined us in assembly and the Chair of Governors presented the annual Governors’ Achievement Awards to pupils for consistently reflecting the school values. This year’s awards were made to Millie Adkins, Ella Warnock, Rafferty George, Clara Redfearn-Bull, Beatrix Gilbert, Charlie Lodge and Willow Young.

A School Council of eighteen pupils met with Governors to talk to them about school life, including how they feel about their learning, favourite subjects and things they are good at, whether there is anything about school that they don’t like and which areas of the school they would like to improve. Maths, Reading, Art and PE were their top four favourite subjects and upgrading the bathroom in the 1839 Building was their definite priority for development.

News from Willow Class

Food banks provide food and support to those who are struggling. They rely on donations to provide this much needed service. This week in Willow Class we decided to make donations to Bicester Food Bank. We collected food like pasta, rice canned goods as well as non-food items like shampoos, moisturisers, wipes and hand washes. We are super excited and really thankful as so many people donated to the food bank.

“We were confident to go around the school and tell everyone about our thoughts, plan and how we were organising our collection of food”, explained Austin and Daisy.

“When we were collecting the food, we were excited and people were really kind to bring in any food for the food bank”, said Max, Summer and Beatrix.

“We felt really satisfied as we are helping people. We are the reason they have a smile on their face”, explained Beatrice and Aphaia

“We felt happy to buy and bring in the food for the Food Bank”, said Dallas and Freddie H.

Huge thanks to everyone who made a donation; the food will be collected from school tomorrow.
